My Photo in Jetstar Website
Jetstar is my preferred airline when I travel by air for overseas flight for three basic reasons: affordable ticket price (budget airline), on time flight (most of the time), and comfortable seat. And, something that I realized when check-in at Changi Airport where now all done by machine, I was always assigned to window seat so far. Well, probably their system keep my historical records and assume it is as my preference.
This morning (23-Sep-2017), when I browse Jetstar website to plan flight for my next photography trip, I am quite surprised that one of my Stock Photo in Shutterstock is being used in the website. It is when you open Menu>Destinations>Indonesia, my picture will be shown there.
I am not sure when it is started being used and until when it will be used. Normally, this kind of website will refresh the images used from time to time, especially if it is using common stock photos from provider like Shutterstock where the usage of photos depend of what kind of licensing being purchased. That is why, I screencaptured the webpage for my documentation purpose.
Well, for more serious and valuable photography work, Shutterstock is not an ideal place to sell your work because the licensing fee there is very little which is normal for common stock photo. 500px, 1x, or Flickr should be a better market place. I keep my complete Photo Portfolio in 500px: https://500px.com/k_sty
But for my case as an amateur photographer where photography is just a hobby and not to make a living, the amount of license fee is not my major concern. I enjoy doing photography, enjoy the travel experience to various places, witness the beauty of nature landscape, and captured that moment in photos. So, when I am getting paid for the pictures those I have taken, it is definitely a bonus. The most important for me is, I am happy because my work is appreciated.
